Reduce Free Radicals with Vitamin C

A pillar of Murad Health is topical skincare and a hero range of mine is the Murad Environmental Shield. Packed full of vitamin C and glycolic it is great for pigmentation, sun damage and ageing skins.

So why do I love it so much ?

🍊Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant that works on the skin’s surface to actively prevent environmental damage; however, not all vitamin C is created equal. Many forms lack stability and bioavailability (how well the skin can use an ingredient) that hinder its potency and power, and even render it useless. 💦Vitamin C is a water-soluble molecule, meaning it is limited in its ability to penetrate the skin for maximum absorption. 🍊 However there are some next generation vitamin Cs that are oil soluble too! Combining both types of vitamin C makes for a great recipe! 🌟Murad’s gold-stabilised Vita-C Complex is highly stable, bioactive and preserves efficacy for full-strength results every time you use it.

🍊So why does skin need Vitamin C?

Skin undergoes an ageing process that is affected by genetic factors and the exposure to environmental factors. Exposure to UVA/UVB rays, blue light from devises, pollution, smoking and a poor diet can accelerate skin damage through oxidative stress. This stress can show on the skin as hyper-pigmentation, dullness, lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that supports healthier-looking skin, neutralising oxidants to help prevent visible skin damage. Unfortunately, our bodies do not naturally produce vitamin C, so we must ingest vitamin C and apply to the skin. So that has it, simple and effective molecule for fight the signs of ageing.
